i have a few questions..

im trying to make a website just like http://www.vidasworld.com/vidas.html do anyone have any suggestons on how to do a few things hat they did on her web site..


and can anyone please tell me how to make buttons and target them


and do anyone know where i could get some good tutorials from any websites. thank you i appreciate any help

The buttons are movieclips acting as buttons. Tutorial can be found in the Macromedia help or at places like flashkit.com, kirupa.com, or actionscript.org. As for the transitions they are accomplished by assigning the buttons a loadMovie actionscript with a preloader attached as the movie is loaded into a "movie holder" on the main timeline. There is a good tutorial on this at sitepoint.com (www.sitepoint.com/print/944) minus the preloader.

Try looking into transparent buttons. It is pretty much a movie clip and a button combined. It is cool to use so that you can give a symbol an instance name so you can target it and still get a hand curser and do actionscript to a movie clip that typically you can only script for buttons.

buttons r type of symbols using for navigation in flash.

make a desired shape, right click on the shape and convert it to symbol-button, also u will get options to add actions on right click. lot of options r there like roll over, drag over.. etc

for learning better download some files from flashkit, ultrashock.. etc and check how the button is and how they applied actions on button.

I think it's not a good idea imitating things you see on the web. You better
use your own creativity. If you're just beginning to learn Flash I think
it's impossible for you to create something like that. Start with some easy
tutorials at http://www.flashkit.com . Tutorials is the best way to learn
flash.
