macromedia flash sitedesign : What's the best stage size?

NB. I've also posted this same question in the General Discussion Forum

I want to create a Flash based web site that works for displays set to 1024 x
768 or larger. (Many of my clients use 1152x870 as default)

What stage size would you recommend?

Also I read something a while back that said Flash doesn't work so well beyond
a certain size. Is there any truth in this?

Is there any documentation, literature that anyone can recommend about this
subject?

Cheers

i recommend 768x1024 max, remember, peopl on aol will have too scroll down
to see that. I prefer 800X600 and make it centered with black space around
it

I used 868 x 574 where I got these from I have no idea but the work pretty good
for screen resolutions of 1024 X 768 and 1280 X 1024. You can check out my site

Hope this helps you,

1024x768.

It still works with a good amount of animation.
I've used this for the last 2 years in kiosks with no problems. Just don't go
overboard on the animation. If you do have a streaming audio embedded. The
animation might jitter, but it will remain in sync.
