help with a navigation menu... adwins04

macromedia flash sitedesign: Does anybody know of a tutorial or a help page that would show me how to create
a navigation menu bar like the one here on the macromedia web site that fades
in and out of more options when you rollover the different options on the bar
and then highlights the new options for clicking? I am brand new to Flash but i
am familiar with web terminology and i currently use photoshop and Dreamweaver
primarily to create my web sites. I think creating a nav bar like macromedia's
would work well with my site. Thanks.

If you have dreamweaver then you have the source code and design of this site
already. (at least most of it)
Go to the front menu when you launch dreamweaver. click create from template,
css styles and view the templates. This very site template is in there. I am
sure if you are permitted to do so (i am assuming so, since they included it)
you can take the menu bar and impliment it into your site. There s a JS file
that goes with it as well.

Also, in the windows tab, you can click snippets, view through there as there
are some pre-made menus, nav_bars, breadcrumb navs, etc....

What if we don't have Dreamweaver and want to keep the entire navigation system
within Flash?
e.g. the main nav bar is flash and so is the sub (or second) nav bar. You
mouse-over a link in the first nav bar, then the sub-nav-bar appears with more
links AND when you mouse-off of the first link and onto the sub-nav-bar, that
sub-nav-bar stays there so you can click on something.

You can make one if flash as well. When you make your mouse over, have the
image(s) apear were you want them, 20 if you want, then you can transform them
to an object and place a web behavior on them. I am not as afluent in Flash as
some here, so there may be another, more easy way to do this.

2. questions:
1. When you say 'transform them into an object', do you mean convert the
sub-menu into a movie or graphic symbol?
2. Do you know which web behavior I place on the sub-menu?
Just so we're on the same page here, have a look at:

When you mouse-over the Boats link, for example, another navbar would slide-in
under the one that's there with more links in it.
Thanks for your help, cVarz.

By the way, your bug signature has a type-o in it. "Your" should be "You're" -
as in "you are"
