macromedia flash sitedesign: Is there any way to prevent the text from being edited when you use external
text files? I wanted to use external text files but I do not want the viewer
to be able to click in the text box, and edit or delete text.

Use a dynamic textfield, and set it's selectable property to false. There is
no way to do this with the input textfield type.

In the properties section for the text box make sure dynamic text is
selected.

make sure you have the properties box fully expanded ( You should see the
Character button under Format) if not press on thte little down arrow in the
bottom right of the Properties inspector.

you should see the Character button. Moving left you have an input for Var:
just to the left of that is a button that has a box with lines across it.
that is the selectable text option, make sure that it is up and not down it
will toggle as you press it.
