macromedia flash sitedesign:
I have a movie clip that I am trying to have start at a specific time
in the parent timeline. The parent timeline actually has a goto
action that makes it loop the last 30-40 frames infinitely. Now,
right before those 30-40 frames is where I'm trying to start a movie
clip which has its own looping action (longer than the 40 frames of
the parent's loop. My movie clip ends up being governed by the
parent's loop (ie, it's restarts back at the place where the parent's
loop starts instead of using its own timeline to determine its loop).
In a related matter, I'm having a hard time understanding how the
tutorial example has a one frame parent timeline under which a 200
frame movie clip plays, and if I define one frame where MY 200 frame
movie clip should start, it just plays that one frame -it doesn't play
its own timeline like the tutorial. What is the tutorial example
doing that I'm not?

Thanks,

its not because it is also looping the command to tell the movie clip to
start playing as well? ie. frame 20 tells the movieclip to start playing
at a frame which is then looped as the main timeline loops and returns
back to this frame?
