Hello everyone, I am new to the forums. I have a question about flash. How can
I stop the distortion on the images when I put it in a tween. Look at what I
mean www.signsofhouston.com/beta I am doing this for a class project but I dont
like the way the images get distorted. Is there a way I can fix this? Thank you
in advance for any help you can give me.

To be honest with you the images look fine from a web point of view. Your
never going to achieve a fantastic quality due to the res you have to use.
If you want to try and improve them a bit, go to your library and select the
properties of each image. From there you can improve the quality. Also on
publish settings, you can lessen the compression on the export of your
images.
Make sure the original images you import are of good quality too - Flash
will only compress them more.

The only thing that will kill this problem is to use the actionscript statement
_quality="BEST" or its HTML equivalent. This overrides Flash's "helpful"
default behavior which is to go cheap on displaying bitmaps that it thinks are
in motion. This does save CPU cycles but manages to confuse most people that
are trying to display photos at their best. If you do run into a speed problem
then you can temporarily switch to a lower quality when the bitmap is in
motion, then kick it back up when the photo stops.

I've also noticed that adding tweens to images can distort them. What I've
found to work is you use the square tool, make a square large enough to
cover the image, convert the square to a movie and apply an alpha of 0 or 1
to it. Somehow this tends to stop the distortin. Make sure the square movie
clip is in a layer above whatever image youre trying to fix.
