I strongly recomend using Director for such projects. If that is not an
option, then use FlashMXPro2004 and convert your video to FLV's for use in
Flash. Remember, Flash was never intended for video playback, it is a
vector animation tool Director is created for just such projects. Right
tool for the right job and all that! :)

I am trying to produce an interactive CD Rom using an interactive web site I
have created in Flash combined with a high quality Quick Time Movie which is a
product of output from Adobe After Effects. I have tried importing the .mov
file as a movieclip, however when I export it back out as a QT movie, the
quality is poor, it's slower than the original and the sound is lost. I have
also tried get movie, which doesn't work and outputting from After Effects as
an .swf file. What is really bugging me is that the QT movie plays beatifully
in the QT player, but once imported into Flash just isn't the same movie. Does
anybody have any solutions, will Flash MX solve all my problems?

Thanks for that, I was fast coming to the conclusion that I was going to have
to use other software. So happens I have an unused copy of Director somewhere
in the darkest corner of my HD so I will have to see if I can crank it up. You
don't happen to know if you can import Flash Movies, ie a button sequence to
command the move, or will I have to start from scratch in Director?

Sound advice,

When I made my portfolio cd I rand into the same issue.

Just use a java pop up with the quicktime player embedded.

Check out my site at http://adroitsight.net. Go under the video section.
After you lauch a video right click on the grey backround and go to 'view
source'. This will give you the htiml code I used to embed the quicktime
player. I used a simple java pop up for the website and used the same pop
up for the cd.

There are a million tutorials online for making such java pop ups. Check
out http://actionscript.org
