macromedia flash sitedesign : Shared Libary...Useless or ?

Hi,

Shared libraries are alright as long as you're very well organized.
However, dynamically linking library items is much better. Simply give
your items linkage IDs and in the movie that's loading them you can call
attachMovie, attachSound, etc. when you're ready to place them on stage.
That way there's no pause nd you can strictly control playback. Also,
this is the only way to get around the issue of not being able to
duplicate loaded movie clips.

Regards,
Patrick

MX 2004 Shared Library insists on loading itself when the swf hits the first
frame with an item from the library, even if the library has been preloaded.
It seems that the only way to avoid a pause during your movie/animation created
by this download is to place an item from the shared library on frame one of
the movie, or in a preloader movie. Either way you spin it there is an
unexplained pause for the surfer to deal with. This IMHO makes shared
libraries useless except for music/sound shared libraries which work just fine
(different implementation).

Anyone have any suggestions, work arounds, comments?

(my first posting of this message was much more complete, but the dog ate it
on the way to the forum)

Is no one using shared libraries, or has no one run into this problem yet, or is there just no solution for the problem?
