Can you open my page, and tell me how long it takes you to load it. It's my
current/very first flash project. If anybody would like to e-mail me I have
tons of questions that need answering and I am on a tight schedule-especially
since I am still learning.
I thought I knew more than i did and kind of took a load too big for me to
handle. THANKS EVERYBODY

Clayton.

I would say it took approx 1 minute to load? maybe a bit less? but I noticed
one major thing I think will help you. Your images are very large files I bet.
They don't look that clear on looking at the site because I'm guessing you
imported them and then shrunk them down once inside Flash. I noticed because
after zooming in on them they were very clear.

1. What you should do is shrink them down in Fireworks or Photoshop to the
size you need inside of flash. I would guess you will go from a 1mb+ image to
under 100k for the size you are using and your image quality will actually be
better. I've just found that shrinking images in Flash is not a good idea for
many reasons. I am sure this will GREATLY reduce your total file size.

2. Get a preloader. I would go to flashkit.com and search preloaders if you
don't already have one.

Good luck.
Mike.

Thank Mike, Your comments and suggestions help a whole BUNCH! I went to
publishing a 20 MB .swf to a .9 MB!!! WOW!!! Figures that the simplest things
can create such nonsence!! But thanks a lot.
For some reason my www.flashkit.com doesn't load? Just sits at an empty white
screen, what's the deal?

Thanks again,
Clayton Zamudio

The loading animation is failure, sorry just get rid of it :P But i like your
loading bar. The only other suggestions I can make at this point are:
- The text letter spacing is a bit too much and in some places in-consistant
- Make sure your text fits in your button space
- Never strech text un-prortionally it looks nafe!

Apart from that the colours are good and loading was fast for me.
Sorry im a bit ratty everything thinks my site sucks :P

Hi there,

I just made a flash web site and I am trying to put a "donwloading sign" so
people know that something is happening.
I just have no idea what kind of code or programing I have to do. The grafic
part will be easie for me to do, but I just don?t know how to makke it "work".

Thank for helping.

Caik this is not a good place to post, but there are LOADS of pre-loaders try
google.
A good place could be on www.kirupa.com for a good explination/working
reloader. Head over there and find somthing.
