Hi,

Major problems! I'm trying to create a site of a slideshow with a calculating
shop.

The problem is: The user needs to be able to add items to the cart - then
close the cart to view another item - then open the cart to add again.

Therefore, for the cart to hold its calculation needs to be present at all
times (on or off the stage). Following this, I duplicated the slideshow on the
timeline (one with image & one with image & shop, but this method has doubled
my file size to a whopping 1.3mb! The site seems to load ok but when I click
view cart it takes 13 sec & several clicks for the shop to appear!

I then converted the images to symbols, but this didn't cut it down that much.
What a mess I'm in now!

Can anyone suggest a method to try? Any help much appreciated

First, you probaly shouldn't be using the Slideshow template. It may be
convenient in the front, but the overhead is more than its worth. (Screens
too.) You'd do better coding that functionality yourself.

Having said that, you probably want to create an object to hold your shopping
cart contents. Store it on the root level so that you can access it and
populate your cart when they call it back up when you need it.

Hope that helps!

Hello,
it took me a while to see the cart, but it worked.
ok, I sugest that the cart movie clip should load once with the main page, but
it would be out of the stage (one of the x, or y coordinates would me
negative). when one user clicks the cart button, the cart change it's
coordinates, so it would apear on the stage, properly. when the user clicks the
close cart button, the cart mc change again it's coordinates, so it will be out
of the stage again.
so, in that way you always gonna have the cart loaded, and won't take any more
time when the user opens it.

i hope you got it..

Hi, Thanks for replying,

That sounds like a good suggestion. I have turned the shop into an mc, but

A/S.

Hi, Thanks for replying,
I've got a slideshow with slide by slide & auto, how would I code this with A/S? Or is this a huge question?
