macromedia flash sitedesign:
[quoted text, click to view]

Is that something like you would see in a hand-written signature?
Constantly moving or stationary?

For your swirl to pass around behind the text and then appear in front
of the text, first draw the swirl on a new layer above the text layer.
When that's done, carefully select the parts of the swirl that would
be behind the text and move it to another layer. Zoom in to make the
selection more precise. Place that new layer below the text layer. I
hope I understood your question.
good luck,
tralfaz

tralfaz is exactly right. But if you are animation the swirl there may be an
easier way:

I have found it easier to place part of the text on another layer, rather
than the animation, simplifying the process.

Make your swirl and animate it.
On a layer above the animated swirl, create your text and convert to curves
(break it apart)
Copy and then cut (remove) the bottom (or top) half, and then paste that
bottom part of your text (or top) on a layer below the animated swirl.

As you do this you will see what the adjustments need to made to get a clean
look.

If you are using dynamic text, you will have to use masking rather than
breaking the text apart, but you can to with the same result.

:confused;
Hello I am new at flash and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure
something out.
I have been trying to figure out how to create a swirl around a block of text.
A countinous swirl from the end of the text to the begining of the text going
up, over, and around the text as it moves from the back to the front.
any ideas?
