macromedia flash sitedesign:
:confused; I am literate in Front Page, Illustrator, & Publisher but I bought a flash real estate template online, and the website is a Macromedia site. I am having trouble viewing a page so I know which page I am inserting a form into.. Like on Front Page, all you have to do is go to Navigation, then click on the page you want to edit. All I find is the bits and pieces of the website. Is there a way to see & edit a page? Thanks!
Are you using Flash as the authoring/editing environment? Did you purchase an SWF or an FLA file or set of files? -- -- Regards, --Vern =========================== onClipEvent(doSomethingStupid){ setProperty("Face", color, #FF0000); _root.audio = "uh oh!"; }
OK, so when you open Flash, and then open the template file within Flash, what are you or are you not seeing? Have you done any Flash tutorials or anything? Are you familiar with MC's, timelines, etc? I don't know your level of understanding in general. The programs you mention are all image programs. Flash is an animation program, huge difference. Have you done any animation work before? -- -- Regards, --Vern =========================== onClipEvent(doSomethingStupid){ setProperty("Face", color, #FF0000); _root.audio = "uh oh!"; }
Vern, It's Macromed. Flash MX 2004-trial. When I open the file, index.fla, I see the text in the middle of the screen "loading" with the sites background color. Then I click on F11 to see Work Area and folder Names with the kind of item (button/movie clip/sound) on the bottom right. In that, I can find the text "insert form here" to edit, but I can't find the actual page where the form goes. Sorry, I know this is very hard to do when you can't see my computer. It's just frustrating, because I pick up on things quickly, and this is driving me crazy. Rebecca
Hi Rebecca, Sorry for my long delays between posts. I have been VERY busy the last couple of days! I am assuming you are not familiar with working on timelines and MC's (movie clips in Flash) which is going to make this a bit hard. When you say you are looking for a page where the form goes, are you trying to insert a form or are you looking for a form that is already in there somewhere? If you are trying to insert a form, where did you get the form, and in what format is it? The reason I ask is a common newbie misunderstanding: Reality is, you cannot diplay HTML forms within Flash. You have to build the form within Flash using it own text boxes, etc. We should clear that up early on here. I know this is a product you have paid for, but how would you feel about posting a copy of the FLA for me to have a look at? You can post it on the backend of a web site and personally send me a link. I would be happy to have a look. But so you know, I will be going out of town on mid Friday afteroon and will not be avaialble again until Sunday afternoon. If this sounds like a good idea, then send a link to me via: vp at pc-grafix dot com Then tell me exactly what you want to happen. Tell me in regards to the finished SWF file and how it play when published. -- -- Regards, --Vern =========================== onClipEvent(doSomethingStupid){ setProperty("Face", color, #FF0000); _root.audio = "uh oh!"; }
Vern, My husband actually found the page we are looking for. I think we're okay for now -- hope so. And I'll be getting a book for Macromedia Flash--taek a step by step lesson. Thanks for your help!
