how is the background music incorporated? is it set to export via
linkage from the library? is it loaded in dynamically from an external
swf? is it on the main timeline set to Event and told to loop? is it in
a movie clip on the main timeline and looping?

weird that this sound stops when that button is pressd - the only way i
can think of this happenning is there has to be some code on the button
that targets this MC and turns the sound off - or there's a
stopAllSounds command on the button.
