macromedia flash sitedesign: I realise someone will come back and say 'it depends on what you're doing',
however if I'm going to set up a portfolio site how would YOU recommend I think
about doing this? i.e. In the past I have created new scenes like About Me,
Work, Contact and linked my buttons to these seperate scenes, but should I do
it this way? Is there a right or wrong way of initially putting together a
Flash site? A standard stage size etc? Help on the initial set up would be
much appreciated. Ta

I've tried it a couple ways. I don't know if there is one best way, but what I
do is lay everything out in my _root timeline. Using scenes seems to really
limit me. Basically you don't have access to the timeline of another scene
until you navigate to that scene.

Generally I put key elements in MCs and control those from the _root timeline.
So I would have an MC that has the menu in it. Clicking a button in that MC
will cange another MC that might have different pictures in it. That way I
could animate a transition from one pic to another within that picture MC.

That's just what I have found works best. Hope that helps.
