Replacing initial small image with huge swf file

Replacing initial small image with huge swf file Nevets Steprock

macromedia flash sitedesign:
As a neophyte in webdesign, I made the error of buying a website template
based on looks alone. When I set the template on my system and view it from
my offsite test computer, the flash header takes forever to load (shame...
it's quite a stunning presentation). I have tried to shrink the file down,
but can only do so much without sacrificing the quality.

I'm thinking that I could have a static image pop up initially and then
replace it with the swf, when it is fully loaded. Can anyone help me with
how this is done. I'm trying to get this site up and running before the end
of May.

Thanks, Steven

PS If there's a better solution, I would appreciate any help you can
give me.

ok, i was looking for a similar solution and then i stoped, but here what u
could do (theoretically but it could happen if u work on it, not like me !)
anyhow, have the original picture ready on the first frame, then put a
action script that tells when the movie/ the rest of the frames have loaded,
to run the rest of the swf file.
or even make a second swf file with just one picture (the one u want) and do
the action script loading check, and when it does load the other swf file.
:)

u see why i say theoretical, it can be done, i know it can, but i simply do
not have the time and (the appropriate knowledge (oh God help my spelling))
so if u do it, oh let me know, my wife will think am a genius :)
