macromedia flash sitedesign:
It is impossible to tell what program was used to create the animation.

Certainly the whole site was not created with Flash .. but some flash movies
are using in the site (but they may have been created with tools other than
flash)

These are not "Flash sites"...in that they are just regular websites with a
Flash graphic added to the layout. For practical purposes, it doesn't
really matter what program was used to actually develop the site, or the
Flash movie that's been added...as long as you arrive at the same
destination. You can develop the regular website part with just about any
website development program, such as Dreamweaver, Go Live, Front Page, ect.
The Flash parts, you can use Flash...or any of the other little flash movie
making programs out there. Then, you just import the little flash movie
parts into the site, wherever you would normally add regular images. I hope
that helps..

Also, none of the navigation/links are flash. Just regular graphics and
HTML/Java Script. Easy as pie...

I like both of these sties a lot - www.thewhycircle.com and
www.fourpointmoms.com
and was wondering if they were built using Flash.

If I wanted to create a similar site, would I just need Flash itself?

Thanks.

Yes, they were both done using Flash. Yes you could build something
similar using Flash. You will probably also need an image editor, like
Photoshop or Fireworks, to build a lot of the art.

Just use the "view source" item in your browser's menu to look at the
HTML that makes up the page. You can usually figure out the page from
that.

That does not tell you whether or not it was made with Flash ... you cannot
tell what program was used to create the SWF files .. maybe it was done with
SWISHmax (for example)

Again...it's a completely basic HTML page. The navigation is Javascript and
GIFs. The text is HTML. The only flash element in the whole damn site is
the little animation that you could make in Flash, or any of the (numerous)
flash animation programs (swish, ect).

The animation of the sea waves is what makes me wonder a bit how it's done.
It's very pixelated, it supposes it's a bitmap breaken apart and then shape
tweened, but it's possible to be made with a 3D program and then exported into
..swf

I don't use front page .. I only occasionally use Flash .. and I don't know
what template you are talking about .. so I'm afraid I can't be of too much
help.

Hello Jeckyl, I just had a question... I've been trying FrontPage 2000 and will
soon be trying Flash... I was wondering if you would know where to insert the
Template into the HTML? At this point that is what is really baffling me.
