macromedia flash sitedesign : am i allowed one stupid question?

Have you purchased or downloaded Flash? Just open it up and it is quite evident from the tools and
help files that yes, it is indeed a vector program in terms of its drawing tools. Go to File >
Import and you will see the formats you are able to import as well - importing of bitmap images has
been supported for years. I recommend importing uncompressed PNG format and adjusting JPEG
compression in flash.

ive decided to start learning flash. im extremely new to this. just
wondering... i use mostly photoshop for my designs. is flash a vector-only
program? or can i import my photoshop graphics into flash as well (ie. buttons,
artwork, bg, ext)?

Hi,
Yes you can import your photoshop stuff into flash.
Click File - Import - Import to Library/ or Stage
