macromedia flash sitedesign: Ok i made my flash intro with a button that sais enter at the end of my
animation and i was wandering how the heck do i put it on my site as a flash
intro???? I have geocities and when i try to uplad it it just plays the flash
file when i put it in the file box.

I have no clue how to put it as an intro on ym page i just need to know how to
get it on a blank page as an intro.
Please someone tell em step by step how to do it. (preferabbly how to in
geocities.)

Open the flash version of your animation and go to publish. Make sure you check
both the flash and the HTML checkbox.



This publishes not only your .swf file but also publishes an html file with
the html on it needed to run the animation.

In your web editor (i use frontpage ) and create a blank page.

open the published html file iusing notepad and copy the html code onto the
blank entrance page of ur site!

set this new intro page to ur index page (or homepage) and upload both the
..swf file and the html page onto geocities!!

Well i made the animation and i have it succesfully on there and on the enter
sign at the end of my animation how do i make it link to my homepage of my
site?? i went to linkage thing and messed around but i cant figure it out and
it doesnt work.
Please tell me how to make it link to my site.

first i converted it into a symbol then i put button and then i clicked export
for runtime sharing?? and then typed url in at bottom but on ym site it doesnt
go to my homepage i typed in.

no probs.

for the button problem...

-create your button (ie. a static button or create up,over,down,hit images
etc)
-convert it to a symbol.
-right click your button then click "Actions." > the actions window appears.
-select "Actions" in the actions window and then select "Browser/Network"
-drag the "getURL" rule/action into the input field near the bottom and enter
your url, frame,etc....
-then save and publish (bothHTML and .swf) again (lol) and upload to geocities
again.
