This would be a bit like handing your visitor a megaphone -- but no
cassette recorder -- and hoping to keep a recording of what is said. If
it's not recorded, where does the voice go? If not into a database, where
is the message stored?

Right. To start it off, I dont have a database for my website. Can I make a
comments system so people can input their name and message, and when they press
submit it posts the comment without needing a database?
