There are three ways to edit a movieclip...

1) dbl click it in the library
You will not see the stage in the background and you have no reference to go by.
This mode is useful to set the registration point for the clip using the align tools.

2) Select movieclip from the 'Edit Symbols' button next to the zoom indicator
this works the same as number 1

3) dbl click the movieclip where you see it on the stage
Now you see it in context with the background elements.

Hi,

I guess it may sound waaayyyy too basic, but is there an option to edit a MC
yet
still see the scene/stage in the background for better positioning of
MC elements?

Appreciate your advice to a newbie :)
