In internet explorer, you have to click the menu once to "activate," then a
second time to follow a link. This happens every time you visit a new page.
Very annoying...any ideas?

Not really MS's fault - Eolas obtained a patent on active content and now we are all suffering.

Chris G. is correct. Patent lawsuits now require Internet Explorer to have
it's users activate active content in the browser (i.e., java, Flash, etc.).
Read the Adobe release on this at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/activecontent/.
They have a quick fix to correct the need for activating the active content.
The article also points to a Dreamweaver plug-in.
