I am designing my personal website and need some help with masking. I know how
to do the masking and get it to turn out the way i want. The problem i am
having is:
Each page of my site has a animation for it. I want to be able to have a
backout animation for each page.
i can't figure out how to get it to play the back out animation before it
plays the next intro animation. and im not sure how to get flash to check which
page the site is on so it knows which animations to play.

I would do this by placing a key to the new page in a variable. For the
key, you can use the name of the new section, or a keyword or a number,
if you like. Then, when a user selects a new page to move to, store this
key in a variable, then parse out which backout animation you want to
use, possibly with a switch/case statement.

If your new page is not directly connected to the backout animation,
then you can use that stored key to then move to/play the new page at
the end of the backout animation.
