macromedia flash sitedesign : Typing cropped on last letter when using filters

Hi everyone,
I have trouble using filters on text. When applying a filter, with no
exception, the last letter appears cropped vertically.
In spite of that, when you check on the swf file and zoom, you will
eventually notice the text is complete (Why does it happen when it's at 100% or
normal view?)

Is there any reason for this to happen or any solution?

Thanks for your help and for replying.

I didn't have this problem with Flash 8, it only happens with CS3 working with
Mac OS X 10.4.10, all fonts have the same issue either static, input or dynamic
text. It happens applying any filter, equally "drop shadow" "glow" or "blur".

Thanks.

Hi Rob,
It seems the font (even extension of the font: ttf, otf, lwfn, etc) does not
make a difference nor the colors being used. It only happens with text when
using antialias for readability or custom antialias. When not using any of
these the problem will be gone.

Any clue?

When zooming in, the text will appear complete. In actual size, the text is
cut-off.

I uninstalled and re-installed Flash and the problem persists.

Thanks again.

Thanks Rob... That's a good solution, I'm only intrigued about whatever is
causing this, any clue? and second, the fact that embedding fonts will increase
substantially the size of files.

It works thou.

Thanks again.

There has been a bug in the Mac flavor of Flash for a couple of versions that
has something to do with the selectable property of Static textfields. This
manifestation is different from the problem in Flash 8.

When you embed a font, you are embedding the outline information for the font.
Some fonts need more information than others, and, the more items you check in
the embed window, the more data you are importing.
