Newbie - Screen resolution - liquid? frozen? march13

macromedia flash sitedesign:
I am new to Flash and only minor experience in Frontpage. I have many
questions but the first is screen resolution. The initial mock-up of the site
was done with a background of 800x600. The market for this site is the
financial aspect of people coming up on or just starting their retirement
years. What I am wondering if it is best to leave it at 800x600 for now or if
there is a better size (i.e. 1024x768) to be working with?

Also, I have read up some on liquid layout vs. frozen. I can see the
advantage of liquid but have no idea of how to program/develop for that. If
anyone knows - can I build it as "one size" and go back later to make it
liquid? We are on a short timeline.

Thanks for any help.

at 800x600, will ensure that almost anyone who browses onto your site can view
it, even with the advent of larger higher resolution monitors, still not
everyone has something to view anything larger, and if your demographic is
older people, you might make a guess that their resolutions are set lower still
so that they can read the text...hope this helps, its nice when you can design
a site for 1024 or even higher, lots of room to work with, but not always
practical, sticking to 800x600 ensures that everyone can view

cheers
