Well everyone seems pretty nice around here. Hopefully I wont get yelled at
for asking "dumb" questions. I know absolutely nothing about flash, but I have
a web template that i really need to be edited so I figured I would give it a
try. Out of all the files on this page http://www.adobe.com/products/ which
one IS Flash MX? The only MX I see is "Macromedia Flash Remoting MX". Is that
what I want? Why does it say remoting? For a person that has no idea what
they are doing thats really.. confusing.

Does anyone know ANYONE that can edit a flash template with out charging an
arm and a leg? This is the http://www.template-download.net/previews/t523/ I
want to edit.

Any help anyone has would be appreciated. I'm only going into day two of
looking for someone to help me and I'm already about to pull my hair out.

MX is an older version of Flash. Flash CS3 is the newest. Most people are on
Flash 8 right now. I'm a bit curious about what you feel an arm and a leg go
for these days. A lot of time goes into making applications like the one on the
site you linked to. Flash Developers and Designers are very talented and they
deserve to be paid for the time that they put in.

I'm not trying to take any credibility or anything away from anyone. I have no
doubt it takes alot of time and effort to create those websites. But all I
want is to edit THAT site. I don't want a brand new site. An arm and a leg..
hm. Yesterday I was quoted 5K. That for me is an arm a leg and a few other
body parts.

Well, that's $125/hr for a week's work (40 hours). Depending on the changes
you're looking for that may be the amount of time it takes and that's an
average rate for a professional Flash agency.

Do you have access to the Flash source (.fla file and all related as files) of
that application? If so, what are the changes you're looking to have done?

I was told from more than a dozen people it would take 5-7 hours. And a
handful of people said it would take 1-2 hours. So im not sure whos more
correct on that assumption.

Well unfort. I dont have the files as of now. I wanted to get a few quotes
to see how much it would be before I actually bought the template. I was
trying to figure out the best way to do this. Buy it then get a quote. Or get
a quote and then buy it. I decided to get quotes first. Kind of a waste to buy
a template for whatever amount of money and then not have anyone to be able to
edit it for me, ya know?

Well if you look at that site link I posted this is what I want done:

On the navbar, I want "my camera" deleted and either taken out completely or
have "prices" added.

If you look at the picture categories, Id like to minimize the categories from
9 down to 5. For now anyway. And I would need each image added with a new
description of the photo. I am completely willing and able to resize the
images myself. And all text would be written by me.

Obviously on the contact, services, about me, that would all need to be
personalized to my info. As far as the "logo" goes on the top left hand
corner id like to just put the name of my business.

I posted this originally because i have no idea how much this would cost,
hence the questions and all the quotes Ive gotten (around 300 now). Im a
Researcher, I have a BA in Culinary Arts, I know SEO, I know how to market
myself. I just have no idea about FLASH.

Thanks.
