I'm getting a "Flash player error - Problem with content: 1" when trying to run several different types of flash files on my Sony P910i UIQ v7 OS. Does anyone know what this error means?

Thanks for the list, the files I were trying are between 500k and 2mb. They
will run on the P800 "flashplay" viewer that was created by "someone". But
that viewer has a limitation on the P900 series.. it won't play the sound..
just show the video.

My P910i that I'm using has 13.05m used out of 32mb total RAM. 16mb used out
of 64mb internal phone memory.. and I have a 1gig memory stick.. so pleanty of
space there.

I'll try some smaller files, but it seems to be that this should work on my
phone in it's current state.

Any thoughts?

I just tried some files under 400k and they seem to work... ok.. the sound it a
little jumpy, but it did show up. Any files over 400k seem to be giving back
that error code "Problem with Content: 1" with the Flash Lite player.

I haven't try optimizing anything for the phone yet.. I'm just using some of
my old stuff, or other peoples files for testing with the player now. Is there
a file size limit or does the flash content for the phone need to be designed
specifically for phones vs. a standard internet web browser?

Cheers,

Tom

The Symbian version of Flash Lite does not have a limit to the size of the SWF,
but a limit to the total amount of memory available to the player. On the UIQ
devices, the limit is 1 megabyte; on the series 60 devices, the limit is 750
kilobytes. On the Sony P910i I don't know :-(

The SWF file and downloaded data consume some of this memory since the SWF
data must be loaded into memory. However, processing the data will also consume
memory. For example, you could embed a large bitmap image in your SWF, which
might only take up 20 kB while compressed, but the Flash Player needs to
uncompress the whole image in order to render it and even a 320x240 image
consumes over 200 kB of memory when uncompressed.
