hi, its been a week or two now. I can not get flash to install for some reason.
I oticed the problem when at purevolume.com the music page i listen to had
pictures not loading with little squares containing colored trinagle, square,
circle things inside. I went to the wesite to install flash and when i hit
install where it should say done for shockwave it has the triangle circle
square thing in the corner, i suppose its not installing, i realize most
wesbites require flash so i dont want to give up. I end up emailing from my
other computer GetFlash and it will not work either. It gets as far done
downloading but then it wont load when i click on it to. probably five minutes
later each time though a pop up in the corner says update for macromedia flash
install now so i click download then it says i need to restart for it to be
effective and it doesnt ever go through. I have norton and adware but i had
them 3 weeks ago and beyond and all my stuff was fine then. i also have
stopzilla to stop popups and spybot to stop spyware too but it appears theres a
problem.
I hope you can help me! I really need Flash Player!
Thanks!

As noted above in 'can't install Flash', we're working on this..

One workaround that I've been suggesting while we figure out what the
problem is with IE/activeX control, is to install a copy of Mozilla
FireFox (www.firefox.com), and install the Flash Player plugin to that.

That will at least give you the ability to view the web with Flash
content while we work on this..

I feel this whole things is nuts, people have tryed for weeks on end to install
Macromedia products and myself included for one reason or another can not
complete the instalations or if they do there are various other problems. So
what is the Real Deal between Microsoft explorer and Macromedia. I need the
flash player in my work yet am still without it, thanks alot guys...The Dreamer

Did you try these steps?

1) Completely uninstall the Flash Player using the uninstaller from the
website below:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/remove_player.htm

2) Look in your C:\WinNT\System32\Macromed\Flash (If you are on a Win 2K

machine) or the similar folder on other OS's and manually delete any
instance
of Flash (swflash.___ or flash.___)

3) Download the MSI installer from the URL below:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_msi

4) Install the MSI player.
