macromedia players flash : Flash Player not working in Firefox

Hi

I've downloaded the latest flash player and installed it without problems. But
whenever there is a flash movie it's not playing. the browser leaves an open
space for the flash movie, but that's it.

I am using Firefox 1.0.7 in an up-to-date Windows XP Prof. with the latest
flash player.
the flash player DOES work in Internet Explorer. And the shockwave player does
work in Firefox.

thanks in advance

Same here.
I have Firefox Extension
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10&application=firefox
installed. Whereas normally I could click on the Adblock tab to engage its
functionality, with the latest Flash player it doesn't work at all; clicking on
it produces nothing. I wonder if there's a conflict with Flash Player 8 and
Adblock?

But is the Flash plugin working? are the Flash componontens/movies working or
displaying?
Adblock is working fine, and even though the Flash movies don't appear, the
Adblock button on the side does appear, and works.

Not at all

Hmm, for me the Adblock tab shows up but clicking on it does nothing.

My current workaround has been to use the 'View This Page in IE' Firefox
extension to get access to Flash 8 media. Not ideal but I've got no recourse!

[quoted text, click to view]

Go to TOOLS / EXTENSIONS / ADBLOCK - double click on ADBLOCK or click
on the OPTIONS button at the bottom of the EXTENSIONS dialog while
ADBLOCK is highlighted.

Click on OPTIONS - uncheck OBJ-TABS

You are now GOOD-TO-GO!

Removing Adblock does solve this problem though!

YIkes, I was afraid that was the answer. Adblock saves me from so much
unsolicited hassling!

Just installed this version of Adblock as linked via the Adblock forums and it works!

Thank you!

I disabled the Obj-Tabs option and it all works! great, thank you.

the only problem is that I can't disable the flash ads any more. so it's not
really a solution. but i'll wait for an update for Adblock, hoping it will work
then.

you can find the option Obj-Tabs in the Adblock options, in the preferences
screen, Tools --> Adblock --> Preferences

the link doesn't work, and Adblock does not need any update's when I manually
check for updates via the extensions screen, Tools --> Extensions.
but i'll be watching for updates, because I can't block flash ads yet.

content just press Ctrl-Maj-F and it covers flash contents with a
right-clikable image you can adblock then or go tools->adblock->overlay flash

this is maybe a better way to use adblock since it doesn't bother you with his
tabs ...
