macromedia players flash : Problem With Player & Firefox

I haven't much knowledge about flash.

When I updated my firefox client to 4.0, flash decided to stop working.

Whatever I want to load will start up, the triggers just don't do anything
when I try to click on them.

Anything that I've tried that is a flash video, game, menu...none of them work!

I've tried to deleting the plugins for it and reinstalling, but that doesn't
seem to be working either.

Have absolutely the same problem.
Windows XP with all actual updates.
IE works but not Mozilla, just since the last update of "flash".

I am having the exact same problem, and I'm really frustrated. I've followed
the FAQ, tried to uninstall (it stalled; would go to 100%, then never close)
and reinstall (all it does is copy some files, then nothing).
I'm running WinME with Firefox v. 1.0.7
Please help!

Is this a Flash 8 player security problem? Have you tried uninstalling the
Flash player and reinstalling Flash player 7?
You can get older versions of the Flash player by following the link below.

I have a different problem. Flash displays in FF, except that the entirety of
the movie (in this case, it's a menu) is displayed, even the parts that I have
cutout/masked in the file itself. It displays just fine in IE. Here's the
screenshots:

The second one is, of course, how it's supposed to appear. Both screenshots
are taken from the same file.

Hi

Had been having the same problem, are you using the Adblock extension - if so
found this on the Mozilla help site:

Flash Player 8.0 does not work if you use Adblock with OBJ-TABS enabled

Due to increased security in Flash Player 8.0, enabling OBJ-TABS in
Adblock will result in no Flash content being displayed. The only workaround at
this time is to disable OBJ-TABS.

I did this and it fixed the problem, of course if you're not using Adblock
this is of no use whatso ever - sorry!

Hope this is helpful

Very nice, mancub, this solved the identical problem as Hansi2005 had.

OBJ-TABS inserts small "Adblock" tabs into content of webpages so that one can
block flash content. I note that even with OBJ-TABS disabled, any content that
has already been blocked will still be blocked, you just can't add any blocks
of content via the TABS, since they don't appear any longer.
