I am working with a person who is using IE 6.0 and had and older version of
Flash Playere on their PC. When they are trying to access one of our Flash
movies, they get an error message that they have an old version and need to get
the newer version. They have installed the new version and get the confirmation
message that it installed properly, but still get the message. I had them
unistall the old version and then they tried to install Flash Player 8 and it
just sits at the install page for a long time and they have not yet received
the installed successfully message.

Any thoughts???

What version does the user see when they go to the following TechNote?

If they see a Flash Movie showing the version number then I would check your
detection method on your site. I would suggest using the latest Detection Kit
which is found here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/download/detection_kit/

i have strange problem installing Flash player 8.0.22, every previous version
is working fine for me, but ver. 8. is NOT ;[ i tried
install_flash_player_active_x.msi but with no luck... it just says error
0x800b0100 and 0xe0000237...
when i try use "regsvr32 flash8.ocx" it shows: error 0x80070005
latest version i can install is (i used this for detection

can u help me? what should i do to install ver 8.0.22.0????
(i check certificates and everything is fine, no untrusted Macromedia certs.)
and in IE is ActiveX scripting enabled in all ways
