I'm having difficulties when attempting to upgrade flash player to v8. I reach
a point in the installation when it tells me to make sure all browsers are
closed. I make sure all applications are closed and it still will not get past
this point. I'm running OSX v10.2.6 on a dual processor G4. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I am having this exact same issue while attempting to install v8. I have
shutdown every program and even logged in as root with nothing running, and
still the "you have an open browser" error. My system is 10.4.5 and Safari
2.0.3.

Previously I was thinking it was the Dashboard, but cmonico's issue is on a
10.2.6 system which predates Dashboard.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Can we install the Flash Player maunally?

Thanks.
