How to disable autoupdate popup for Player 8? Pete R

macromedia players flash:
Having deployed Flash Player 8 to thousands of desktops using SMS, users are
now getting popups to upgrade to a newer version. Not only do I not want this,
but they don't have rights to upgrade anyway. How do I disable this behavior??
Thanks!

been looking for this one myself. it appears there is a setings file in each
user's profile that holds this information. on an xpsp2 pc "C:\Documents and
Settings\%username%\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash
Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\settings.sol" holds the setting
configured through the global notification settings screen. Once you make the
changes desired, for your own profile, take that file and put it in the all
users profile and that should work for you.
