macromedia players flash: When installing macromedia flash player 8 i keep getting the error "Error 1904.
Module C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash8.ocx failed to register.
HResult -2147220473." does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Just uninstall the player from all different existing users on your system.
Then, re-install from a different user than the one you had problems with (with
admin privileges), and that should do it. At least, it did for me.

I spent 4 hours on the same problem..... My Laptop also had the following
symptoms.... WIndows Update ActiveX control would not work, Control Panel/user
accounts came up with an error. If your machine(s) come up with similar activeX
errors then ou can fix it by using this VBS script from this link....

All seems to relate to a XP security patch 896688.

hi i am a little sad bc macromedia has no real help desk at all 2 times i
have sent in a complaint about this 2 time hotmail has told me they all do not
work so plz try to help me i can not vist any of my regular sites now CAN YOU
