Diner Dash, Roller Rush and Lucky Letters all start up for me but within 1 minute they crash.The error reporting states that they have found no particuliar problem. I've re-installed the Flash player numerous times. Still, these 3 games crash. I can play other game with no problem. Someone help.
Where are these games .. and what exactly happens when there is a 'crash' .. any messages? does explorer disappear? What version of flash player are you using? What browser? -- Jeckyl
I'm using version 8,0,22,0 of Flash Player. I got the games from Gameblast.com but have gotten them from other sites as well with the same errors. I use Internet Explorer. I start up a game, it plays for maybe a minute them I get an error message stating "Macromedia Projector has encountered a problem and needs to close". I check on "send error report". The online crash analysis says that Microsoft has determined it is an unknown error occurring in Flash Player and they have no solution currently. So I've tried downloading the newest version of Flash Player but this doesn't help. That leaves me here and frustrated.
I am having the same problems on my computer and I understand how you feel... I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash and shockwave and any of the games that have crashed I have the most updated version on my display driver. I have the most recent version of Directx. I have tried running a system analysis. The game site I usually get my games from is reflexive.com. and nothing special happens when it crashes... the game just closes. In Mystery Case Files it says something about Macromedia Projector but in Pat Sajak's lucky letters it only says it encountered a problem. My daughter has these same games on her computer and she doesn't have any problems with them... please help me this is very frustrating!!! :|
Lucky Letters crashes on my comp. I just recently formatted my wifes and her moms comuters and the games play fine on theirs. Has anyone found a solution yet i really dont want to reformat just to get that game to work.
I'm running the same version (8,0,22,0) of Flash, on Windows ME. I have updated all my drivers and Driect X to the latest models, but I still get the same message 'Microsoft internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." And gives me the option of sending an error report. The page doesn't help, and just says to contact macromedia. I thought it might've been my dodgy computer, so I reformatted the hard drive and re-installed the operating system, but the problem remains.
I've been reformatted, have all the latest updates to everything (xp sp1 home), use IE (well, I can't now, it keeps locking up and crashing) and FF. With the Flash 8 games either won't load or only load part way then stop (Neopets - a very heavy flash-based site). The only way I'm online is by using FF. I need flash just to view my homepage, and on IE it's causing so many problems it's insane. Send error reports after lockup/crash and get Solution Not Found, unknown error occurred that caused IE to malfunction. The only thing different is the flash 8. Sound or no sound means nothing. I have to try 3 or 4 times just to get my homepage to open in IE and once it does, I can't go anywhere else - that's when I lockup and crash. Both flash and shockwave are showing up in my list of programs and in my IE tools. So, I don't know what the answer is. I've uninstalled and re-installed flash so many times in the last 2 days I've lost count.

Im an avid user of neopets and I have been having crashing problems with .ocx since updating to flash 8 way back when it was 1st released.. Im still patiently waiting for a solution from macromedia..I stupidly reformatted just after the update thinking it was a problem with my comp but hey presto what do you know the problem is still there.. I have tried FF as a browser but it still does the same.. Now even after the newest update which I did today its still the same.. Just though I would let you guys know and that you are all probably in for a long wait for a solution.

I had the same problem with Flash8 . i.e. 'Microsoft internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." And gives me the option of sending an error report. The page doesn't help, and just says to contact Macromedia (who along wiht Microsoft, are not interested). I removed and installed Flash8 several times and all the other garbage suggested by Macromedia to no avail. Eventually installed the archived Flash7 player as a workaround. I agree this is all very infuriating!
When i play yahtzee on the games.com website i always crash, i get an error message saying that a script in the movie is causing flash 8 to run slowly. It comes up about 20 in a and i cant get rid of it
:frown;:disgust; I am having problems with Diner Dash and MCF-Huntsville. This is beginning to be quite a pain. My error is Macromedia Projector. I called support they told me to use online support. GRRRRRR I can use other games. I too, can start it and in MCF find 1 or 2 things then the error comes up. Error Access violation. Please someone HELP!!!
I am experiencing the same problem w/ Diner Dash. I have tried playing it on Yahoo games as well as Game Blast and I am experiencing the same problem. With IE game crashes within 30 sec on 1st level. With Netscape I've gotten to 3rd level but can't make it through without a crash. It did crash a couple of times in 2nd level also.
I too have this problem with almost every game from Macromedia. They play for about 1 minute and then crash. They have no phone in technical support, so all the fixes I have been trying have been through their very slow email response system. I have: Uninstalled, rebooted and then reinstalled Shockwave and Flash Player Updated my sound card drivers Updated my video card drivers Updated Direct X But the programs continue to crash. This is so frustrating especially since I realize now it is not just me and maybe they will wake up soon and figure out what the problem is. graphmaster:disgust;

I'm feeling pretty stupid right about now, but maybe someone can help me understand how this got answered. I have done everything that leeniesav has done; uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, reinstall, unistall, reinstall. I have done that not only with the player but the games as well. I have reformatted my computer....pretty much, you name it, I've pretty much done it. So now I would really like to know how her problem was resolved or "answered" Cause I need some major help here before I lose it completely!!!!!:disgust; :|
:|Rosie, I understand your frustration - this is what I had to do to make it work: You must cut all the sound to the application you are running. I can get Shockwave to work, but I need to go to the options to disable the sound. This really stinks because the sound helps make the application, but I guess they will never fix this for us. I have a top of the line computer with NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec - which is pretty standard - but the software keeps crashing when I try to use sound with the flash player. Juliana
