When I attempt to download the free Macromedia Flash Player, the spinning
message goes instantly to "Flash Player has been installed successfully." But
nothing seems to have happened. I cannot find Flash Player in the list of
programs, and the flash content I'm trying to work with won't function
correctly. I can get the files to open through Internet Explorer, but the
flash functionality isn't working, so I'm guessing the Flash Player never
loaded at all.

That's correct .. its not a program .. its a plugin and activex control

That isn't very clear .. if the swf do anything at all, then the player is
properly installed .. is its not functioning correctly while its playing,
that a problem with the SWF or your system, or with security settings. You
say you can open them, but its not working ... maybe you could describe
exactly what it is you are doing and exactly what is happening and what will
not 'function correctly'?

NOTE: If the player wasn't installed, you wouldn't see the spinning message
etc .. because that required flash player to see it.

:confused; i have the same problem as skywriter, apparently......... when i
doubleclick the .swf, i get an "open with..." window and flash is not on the
list. could that be because i bought the eltima decompiler? does flash
have a conflict with that program that might cause this? shouldn't the
installation create an icon or a quicklaunch? shouldn't it ask me where i
want the player to reside? .............................. very

Well the only problem I have is that flashplayer 8 was apparently never
installed! The spinner thing isn't spinning at all and when trying to install
or download it, I get this error 1904.Module message. What does this mean and
what's the solution?
