I am trying to open a .swf file. I have Macromedia Flash Player installed, but when I try to open the file (an email attachment) it asks what program I want to use. Macromedia does not show up on the list, so I choose Other. The program is in Application Data, but I cannot find an .exe file. The test page shows it is properly installed. Any suggestions for making the connection so it will open a .swf file? Thanks for the help!
You probably don't have the Flash Player program .. you probably have only the Flash Player activex control or Flash Player pluging for Netscape et al. If you DO have the saflashplayer.exe or flashpla.exe, then find it and run it and it will register itself as the player for SWF files when you open them -- All the best, Jeckyl
It comes with Flash itself. You could also try searching the internet and see if you can find one, but strictly speaking its not supposed to be redistributed. Although one can make a legally redistributable stand alone player very simply if one has flash and can then give that player to all your friends by simply making a projector exe .. then register the projector exe as the player for SWF files and you've got a standalone player. -- All the best, Jeckyl
Don't see what you're looking for? Try a search.
