Flash Player never appears in add/remove programs, so that's normal
(most people don't realize this though.. It's not an application, it's a
plugin/activeX control. So doesn't fit in to the regular installed
application framework)

I have had same problem with not being able to download or use flash player.
First I changed my MSN accelerator to none and then found that I have a Phila.
Eagles screensaver that fires up and uses the flash player. I deleted my
screensaver and now have no problems with flash on a number of sites and on
macromedia test page it works fine. Flash player still is not in my add &
remove programs but it's working.

After deleting my screensaver,Flash is working properly.
I followed all insructions even did a search for flash.ocx and found it to be
in the right location.
After doing the search I deleted all referances to flash and then downloaded
again, from there I went to a few sites and had no problems, I then went and
installed the screensaver again just to try and all the problems started again
so I guess the sceensaver is fouling up flash.
