macromedia players flash : IE Cannot Detect Flash

I have tried practically everything in the troubleshooting section of
Macromedia, and still IE cannot seem to detect Flash Player. When I go to the
Macromedia site, the "Installation Complete" message appears, but when I go to
many other websites, Flash is not recognized. Some of the messages I receive
are:

NBA.com <http://www.nba.com/>:

"I can't find out if you have Flash installed.
You need Flash 5 and above to run this application.
Click here to download the plugin"

Boeing Homepage <http://www.boeing.com>:

"To get the full benefit of the Boeing Web site, you will need to download and
install the latest version of the Flash player. If you were automatically
redirected to this page, you either do not have the Flash plug-in or your Flash
plug-in needs to be upgraded (if you believe you have reached this page in
error, go directly to our Flash page). If you are using Internet Explorer, you
also need to make sure ActiveX is enabled. This site also requires a
JavaScript-enabled browser."

NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFFICIAL WEBSITE
<http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/>:

"Some contents on this site require the Flash version 5 or later plug-in.
Flash is available here."

I even checked my registration entries, and I could not find the "kill bit"
entry. Flash used to work very well until about a month or so ago, but now...

What am I to do now?

I have the same problem, but to add if you go to the boeing site and
click on the link at the bottom where it says to "go directly to our
Flash page" which is http://www.boeing.com/flash.html then you can go to
the actual boeing site and flash works fine. Miniusa.com doesn't detect
the flash either, but there is a link that will take you directly to the
flash site and that works fine also.

I have XP sp2 with flash 7 on 2 machines..the only difference between
the 2 that i can see is that the one where flash works flawlessly on has
had older versions of flash installed on it. The one i'm having

running "Regsvr32 vbscript.dll" in a command window also fixed this
problem for me also.
