Somehow I have deactivated flash so that it will not run in... IE, Maxton,
Avant, Mozilla or Firefox
It WILL run in Yahoo messenger and stand-alone flash players.
I most likely did a registry edit (win98se) or something with spybot or a
similar tinkering type program.
I have tried installing several versions of flash.
Just wondering if there are any registry keys or internet settings I should
check.

(Could be something else though. Without knowing how you disabled it
it's difficult to guess)
