Hi, can someone tell me if I can save a Flash movie that I am playing from
someone else's site?

Basically, I would like to drag and drop it on my desktop like an image or
some variation thereof.

If that is not possible, does anyone have any ideas how I might use some other
software to record it as one would record a TV program?

Please keep it simple as I am a non-techie!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a major security feature of Flash content, it is not possible to right
click and save the content or drag and drop content like normal images. This
assures are users that their content is not able to be "borrowed" by others on
the web. So to answer your request, there is no way to accomplish this.

That last guy who said you can't copy flash from a web site does'nt know what
he was talking about you can copy flash from the internet! This is how you
copy flash from the web (For windows xp, if you got a different "OS" its probly
similiar thu)
Go to your control panel> go to Network and internet connections >go to
internet options> a box will pop up
with tabs saying general, security, privacy, content etc. under General there
will a option for your temporary internet folder>
Click on settings>Another box will pop up> click view files> The temporary
folder will now be open>In it will be all the html
and jpeg and audio and flash and video you previosly viewed. Scroll thru it
and find the flash your interested in and right click
it select copy> open another folder and right click it > select Paste.>
congratulations you just ripped a flash animations from the web! To view it you
will a standalone flash player becuase for some reason the standard flash
player only plays flash
directly off the web, not allowing you view copied flash offline for your own
personal entertaiment which is stupid.
Hope this helps:)

FYI, this trick works only if the person who made the swf didn't include
in his code to check wether the swf is played from his website.
And many do.

(my 2 cents)
