alright so ive read almost all the posts in this forum and tried all the support pages on the website but i got no answers. so heres my problem i run firefox v. 1.0.6 and i have flash player installed and flash movies load up but once i click anything once i cannot click anything else. i will click a link or something in a flash movie and nothing will happen. it sucks because i have to switch to IE to use flash movies. any help would be great. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the player multipile times. thanks
yes i read that. thats not the problem im having. i can see flash movies in firefox. i just cannot click any of the links inside the flash movies. nothing happens when i click anywhere on any flash movie.
This may be related to the mozilla activeX plugin -- once that's removed, it seems to work ok.
I am also having this problem - only in Firefox. The movie loads and seems to be working fine until it loads one of the SWF files. The file loads, but I can't click on anything and the key captures do not work. This only happens in FF, all other browsers it is fine. Any ideas?
I stripped my embed code down as described in this article and voila - my Flash works fine now. Go figure!
I finally found an answer that helped me and thought I'd share it to hopefully save some of you time and trouble it took me to figure it out. Per MozillaPluginDoc: "If you have the Adblock extension installed, you must disable OBJ-TABS, otherwise Flash Player 8.0 will not work."
I have a similar problem with links not working in local swf's displayed in Firefox, It is probably due to the new security measures in flash 8, with everything being sandboxed. However, I tried to change the players settings to "Always Allow", and my setting changes wouldn't stick. I have grumpy clients who have the same problem, who have "broken" swf's that i delivered before they upgraded to Flash Player 8. I also sent a bug report to MM. Maybe I should send them the support bills my clients don't want to pay. ;) I am rolling back to a working Flash 7 player.. ...telling my clients to do the same. The punishment of early adapters! ;)
lost, you may want to check again. I was having the same exact problem you were. Flash was installed and I could see flash movies/objects, but when I clicked on something in a flash movie or object, nothing would happen. I didn't know I had this mozilla Active X plugin, but I checked my plugins in my browser, and lo and behold it was there. To remove it, go to the plugins folder in your mozilla firefox directory and delete npmozax.dll. When I did this, the next time I went to a flash site, I was prompted by firefox to install the flash plugin, I did it and now flash works perfectly. You might as well at least try and look for the active x plugin, it can't hurt.
