I am also experiencing the same problem with Flash Player in that various
websites will not open and ask that I download the most current version of
Flash Player when I already have. I have verified on the Adobe site that I
have the most current version. The Cadillac.com site, youtube.com, and others
simply do not function. Can you help?

I first uninstalled the flash player, then reinstalled it. And it worked:beer;

I had the same problem for weeks, first websites were telling me I didn't have
flash, couldn't see a thing on Youtube, etc..etc. Yet when I clicked on the
adobe site the animation played. Success...NOT! I did some searches and
everyone was saying it worked in Foxfire so I downloaded Foxfire and it worked,
but still not IE, or AOL. After going bald and trying everything Adobe had in
their help sections. Including using the unintsaller for flash, I rebooted and
downloaded IE7, then reinstalled Flash, still didn't work. So then I changed my
settings to enable all active X content, still didn't work. Searched for days
to make sure I didn't have any other flash plugins/players...nothing. But, it
is fixed now :-)

Try this. Go to start and search, search all subfolders, etc...and type in the
word getflash.exe or you can search by just the keyword flash. You'll get a ton
of files if you just search flash but that's how I found it originally, what
you are looking for is the one with the flash symbol and the words getflash.exe
next to it. Double click on it and let it do it's thing, reboot and voila Flash
is now working in everything IE, AOL. I found it in two locations documents and
settings and in program files Mozilla/Foxfire/plugins and their both staying in
case I encounter this again. Apparently it was either not doing a full download
on the Adobe website or it was not installing correctly for me. But this did
the trick and at last after weeks of frustration I can view Flash. lol
