My old player (8?) quit working last week so i followed Adobe guidance:

1. downloaded <uninstall_flash_player.exe> version 3.0.0.20
2. downloaded <install_flash_player.exe> version 9.0.16.0
3. closed all apps, etcetera and ran uninstall...
it left the following on my computer (dates are Created dates):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
Flash8.ocx 1402k 8/27/05
flash.ocx 814k 7/17/04
GetFlash.exe 128k 8/27/05
GetFlash.exe.manifest 1k 8/27/05

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player
#SharedObjects ac_ver2.sol
macromedia.com various - settings.sol

NOTE: Should "Macromed" not "Macromedia" be the actual spelling of the folder
in my C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder???

4. ran install and got the following error:

"Setup could not find your browser's plugins directory... "(with options to
Browse to it's location which i have no idea of)

5. i quit the setup application and now can play NONE of my cool .swf games >(

i use latest version of MS IE
