Adobe flash player 9 does not want to install - on XP sp2 IE6 sp2 - removed all security features - I am admistrator - removed pevious player - security setting to lower level -..... what else????
Me too. Well as a developer of flash sites, Adobe f _ _ k ed this one up! Now their market penetration will drop significantly... no more claiming 96% of all browsers play flash. This is complete stupidity on Adobe's part to assume anything other than complete automatic and reliable updates as they've done in the past. Anything less is cause for failure. To come up with technote after technote of possible solutions for the "end-user" and to expect any kind of migration is assnine in my opinion. Obviously Microsoft isn't helping the matter at all, since this all works fine within Firefox. And version 7 of IE doesn't make it any better either. The big question is how long will we have to wait for the "right answer/solution" from Adobe??? SCW
hmmm, I'm running Firefox 1.5 where it's just fine, I wonder how it will perform if I upgrade to FF 2.0. Meanwhile the clock ticks as Adobe sits flat footed about how to address the miserable player 9. I mean you can't make up for the alienation that's occuring every minute of the day. The "Masses" aren't going to go searching for "the 5 step, shut everything down, uninstall, reinstall, and reboot technote" to fix this solution. And what about all those websites designed to do wonderful things with flash - only to leave the general public wondering "what's up with that retarded website? " With virtually everyone abandoning the site and saying to themselves, "that was stupid.' Maybe we need Microsoft to come out with their own flash solution, to keep Adobe on their toes... this would have been fixed within 48 hours.
