macromedia players flash:
I just receieved my computer back from the shop and everything works
perfectly... except. Everytime I attempt to access the website www.myspace.com
it says that the computer has encountered a problem with flash06.ocx and must
close. I have to disable it as an add-on just to view the site, but I cannot
view pics or slideshows. Even with the Shockwave Flash object enabled I cannot
view slideshows on photosharing sites such as photobucket.com and slide.com

This is driving me nuts... the computer won't allow me add/remove the file
saying it is write-protected.

How do I fix this and re-install flash?

Howdy,

I am assuming this is Windows XP IE?

Please check the following folder:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

If you don?t see ?Flash9b.ocx? you don?t have the latest player installed.

Instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash Player:

[NUM]
1. First download the latest uninstaller to your desktop from here
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
2. Before running this uninstaller be sure to read the instruction and close
all running programs.
3. Open the following folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
4. Run the uninstaller
5. What files are left in this folder? C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
6. If there are files left, delete the Flash folder.
7. Install the Flash Player from here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
8. Test the Flash Player here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
[/NUM]

I would highly recommend that you use the latest Flash Player. The latest
player (version 9.0.28.0) is a file named 'Flash9b.ocx'.
