macromedia players flash:
I was prompted to download the latest flash player. I downloaded and installed
it and it did not work so I went into Add Remove to remove it. I evidently
removed the original flash player that came with my computer by mistake because
now I have none. I have tried and tried to get it back but it will not
download. How can I get it back?

Hi there,

Please do not use the Add / Remove to uninstall the Flash Player. Use the
uninstaller from here:

http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157

Instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash Player:

[NUM]
1. First download the latest uninstaller to your desktop from here
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
2. Before running this uninstaller be sure to read the instruction and close
all running programs.
3. Open the following folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
4. Run the uninstaller
5. What files are left in this folder? C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
6. If there are files left, delete the Flash folder.
7. Install the Flash Player from here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
8. Test the Flash Player here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
[/NUM]

In regards to your question, you can download archived Flash Players from
here:

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14266

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you use the latest Flash Player. The
latest player (version 9.0.28.0) is a file named 'Flash9b.ocx'.
