Hi.. I'm having a little problem with Flash. When I go to a website that uses Flash, I am instructed that I need to install Flash Player even though I already have it installed. I then install it again and no problems until I clear out my internet cache and revisit a page which uses Flash, then I get advised that I need Flash to view the contents??? I have configured my Ad-blocking software to allow flash content through for the websites in question and the same happens when I completely disable by ad blockers so I don't know what's causing the problem. Would appreciate any help on this... Many thanks in advance :-)
Hi dickieUK There is a roundabout way of solving this permanently. It worked for me, so hopefully it should for you too. When you install flash player via website, there is an check box option to include "Yahoo Toolbar". Leave it checked (do not un- tick it) Obviously, after your installation, when you restart the IE browser you will get that annoying space eating thing placed on top part of your browser called Yahoo Toolbar. To remove this, go to control panel ---> Add Remove programs --> click Yahoo toolbar and REMOVE Now try deleting IE cache, the macromedia Flash player should stay there permanently. It works for me. This is unofficially confirmed as a marketing tactic employed by Yahoo and Macromedia (now Adobe) to increase the page "hit ratio" and their rankings to beat google & msn toolbar' popularity My advice is, do not use any toolbar unless you are badly in love with it Hope this helps
I seem to have the same problem that you described (by mistake I created a new thread instead of using this )
I searched this forum and found atleast 6 people have reported this same issue As a temporary fix, Delete the files manually by going into IE Tools -->Internet Option -->Settings--->View Files---> This opens a new windows ---> press Control - A (selects all ) ---> press SHIFT & DELETE.
Hi niv321, Thanks for the advice but the problem just went away on it's own so I don't know what was causing it or more to the point, what fixed it.
