After updating from 8.0.22.0 to the current 8.0.24.0 version of Flash player, I
see these new files under C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\:
I am assuming these files are installed by the current version:
UninstFl.exe - dated 12/20/2005
Flash8a.ocx - dated 12/20/2005
GetFlash.exe - dated 1/2/2006

I still see the following files under C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\

SWFlash.ocx - shows version 5.0.42.0 and dated 1/8/2002
GetFlash.exe.manifest - this is dated 12/8/2003
Flash.ocx - shows version 7.0.19.0 and dated 12/8/2003
Flash8.ocx - shows version 8.0.22.0 and dated 8/27/2005

I guess these are files that were there from the older versions of Flash.
I have unregistered them from the system but should I remove (like un-install)
these files?
Is there a way to remove these files? Or Will the system be vulnerable if I
still keep these files on the system?
Is there a command to remove all previous versions (and files) till 8.0.22.0
and then install the 8.0.24.0 version?

Thanks

You can remove the old files as long as you leave the "flash8a.ocx"
file intact. The other files are previous versions of the player that
were left behind from previous installations. One note, these files are
no longer in use by the browser or operating system, so you are not
vulnerable to security exploits in those players.
