We are aware that many folks are having trouble with installation of Flash
Player 8.0.24.0 ActiveX control for Internet Explorer Windows.
We have actively been working on this issue and we believe we have some

Hi
When viewing some web sites Flash Player is needed to view some of the web
content. I have Flash Player eight installed but I am still unable to view the
content. For example when I try to watch a video clip on CNN all I see is a

I've tried updating all my software, fixing the registry, fiddling with Active
X controls and everything else I've found on this site and still Flash Player
only works sporadically. :(
For example: I can see all the flash animations on this site but I can't view

When I go to the Macromedia main page instead of the latest flash player
playing the flash files, I get a quick time Q with a ? mark in the middle of
it, but no flash files play. I have uninstalled and re-installed flash and
quick time, but continue to get the same result. Any Ideas?

Hi
I recently downloaded the trial version of flash 8 but whenever i put any
finished work on a page (not live) i get that active x pop up bar whenever i
try to open the page so i must assume this will happen if i updated the live
pages with flash extras - Is there any way of stopping this... more >>

I have all the lastest patches from MS, and for some reason, the Standard
detection script, fails in IE... but works in fine in Firefox...
I know that IE has the correct version of Flash (8), as I can run the
application by entering the full URL to the acutal object.

Windows XP, Flash MX 6.0.r25.
Flash working, at first just with Firefox, but now also with IE. I've
installed version 8.0 from both the Macromedia site and the Firefox site, but
neither has worked. I also tried to update to 7.x and that didn't work either.

I have signed up for the licencing agreement. It stated that there would be a

So far I have asked this one twice in the flash group, so maybe I will try
here.
The Flash videos on the "Flash" page of the Macromedia site feature a "CC"
button that allows the user to turn on or off closed captioning. How is the
closed captioning button added to the player to do this?
