I simply can't get the Flash player installation to finish on my Intel Mac Pro

I downloaded Flash9 from Hippo after countless failed attempts at the Adobe
site.
I went to install the .exe file and got a Pop-Up blocker from Adobe saying I
didn't have
the latest version (huh?) and I should go to their site for the latest, most
secure version.

We have recently upgraded to the latest version of Flash 9.0.47. When viewing
pages that are directly linked to a .SWF file, the content is never displayed.
The IE status bar shows 'Downloading' and then 'Done' but only white space is

I have both "Netscape 7.2" and "Internet Explorer 6 sp2" installed with OS
XP-Pro. I previously had Flash Player 8 installed and all was well with both

EVERYTIME I start up any of my browsers, the Flash Player isn't working and has
to be reinstalled.
Even if I quit the browser for five seconds and relaunch, Flash Player is no
longer installed.
I've tried the un-installer, but that makes no difference.

I have the exact same problem. I get the same error during installation and ALL
websites having Flash content generate the same message --- "You need to
upgrade your Flash Player and enable JavaScript to view this content" --- or

Issue: HPUX 11iv2 PARISC and Itanium and AIX 5.1 and 5.2 (PPC) are not listed
in the systemj requirements of Flash Player. And So affects the Flex SDK
Applications?
Does this mean these OS are NOT Supported currently and FLEX applications
